“Si” + present: a condition, then an instruction or a future

For a real condition, the “si” part stays in the present.

Never a future right after “si” itself: the future goes in the other half of the sentence. Before “il”, “si” becomes “s’il”.

Even when the condition is about the future, the verb after “si” stays in the present. The future goes in the other half of the sentence, not after “si”.

“Si” + “il” always contracts to “s’il”. It is the only case: “si elle”, “si on” do not change.
