Taking the bus in the morning

Every morning, Hamid takes the bus to his French class: the stop, the card, the driver, the city going by.

The text

Hamid lives in a small apartment with his wife and his daughter. Every morning, he takes the bus to go to his French class.

It is early. Outside, it is cold. Hamid puts on his coat, his tuque and his gloves. He says goodbye to his daughter and he goes out.

The bus stop is at the corner of the street, in front of the pharmacy. There are already three people. A lady is reading on her phone. A young man is listening to music. Hamid looks at the street. There is snow on the sidewalks.

The bus arrives. The doors open. Hamid gets on and taps his card. Beep! He says “hello” to the driver. The driver answers “hello” with a smile.

On the bus, there are a lot of people. There is no seat free. Hamid stays standing and holds the bar. Next to him, there is a little girl with a school bag. She is looking out the window.

The bus drives through the city. It stops, people get off, people get on. Hamid counts the stops in his head.

After a few stops, he sees his school. He presses the button. The bus stops. Hamid gets off and says “thank you!” to the driver. In the classroom, there is hot coffee and there are friends. His day is starting well.
