Au Québec, arriver à l'heure est apprécié, mais quinze minutes de retard pour un souper amical reste tout à fait acceptable. On apporte presque toujours quelque chose : vin, dessert, fleurs ou un petit produit de chez soi. Refuser d'enlever ses bottes en hiver serait étrange — le geste fait partie de la politesse d'entrée.
In Quebec, arriving on time is appreciated, but being fifteen minutes late for a casual dinner is still perfectly acceptable. People almost always bring something: wine, dessert, flowers, or a small product from home. Refusing to take off your boots in winter would be odd — it's part of the polite arrival ritual.
