How many days have you spent in Canada?

Count your days of physical presence in Canada from your arrival date and your trips, and see where you stand for PR card renewal and citizenship.

Trips outside Canada

For each trip: the day you left Canada and the day you returned. Departure and return days both count as in-Canada days.

No trips added. Add your trips outside Canada since you arrived.

Your data stays on your device. No date entered here is sent to a server — everything is saved locally (localStorage). For the official calculation, use IRCC's calculator.

Author's note: the most common cause of a PR-renewal refusal is miscounting trips — people forget weekend getaways to the United States or family visits to Europe. Use passport stamps and boarding-pass emails as your reference. And a tip: bookmark this page — your data is kept locally between visits.

Open the full FAQ →
How many days do you need to renew the PR card?+
You need 730 days of physical presence in Canada within the last 5 years to renew your permanent resident card.
How many days do you need for Canadian citizenship?+
You need 1,095 days as a permanent resident within the last 5 years to apply for Canadian citizenship.
How does IRCC count the days?+
Both your departure day and your return day count as days in Canada. Only the days strictly between leaving and returning count as time outside the country. The 5-year window is rolling: it is always the 5 years immediately before your application. Only days as a permanent resident count — temporary residence (work or study permit) does not count toward the PR card.
Does this tool replace the official IRCC calculation?+
No. For your real application, always run IRCC's official calculator on the day you apply — that is the version that counts legally. This tool does not count temporary-residence days before PR, and does not check your tax returns, criminal admissibility, language test or the other citizenship requirements.
What does the "earliest date" shown mean?+
It assumes you stay in Canada continuously from today and tells you when you will cross the 730- or 1,095-day threshold. It does not account for the rolling 5-year window.
Is my data saved?+
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser: no information is sent to or stored on our servers.
